NEWS30.8.13: Have nearly completed my Trenches of the First World War. Currently having it proof read by a friend with a background in military history and then it off to the publisher next month. I thought I knew most things about this conflict but was proven very wrong. Its full of surprises and much of what we assume about it has been rewritten by more accurate recent research.
20.6.13: Have started work on my next project about the First World War. Although we haven't decided upon a title yet it will focus upon British trenches along the Western Front, how they were built, what life was like in them and how they warfare was conducted from them. Follow me on facebook to find out more about the characters from the conflict and the events which lead up to it; go to trevoryorke-author and click like. 7.5.13: Had a great time with Time Team on their new Dig Village project at Dunster, Somerset, finding out about some of the colourful characters from its past. FIRST WORLD WAR Complete change of scene for my next book. With the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War next year we feel that a book explaining how the trenches were created, what life was like in them and how warfare was conducted during the conflict would be a useful book for all age groups. Not sure of the title and details yet but it will be packed with my diagrams and drawings to clearly show how these iconic fortifications were built. Click on my facebook page trevoryorke-author to keep up to date with how it is progressing.
